National Scrapbook Day- 2 seats left!

This weekend is my annual National Scrapbook Day Workshop, happening at my place on Saturday, May 1st. This year's theme is Sweet 16, recognizing the 16th year of the National Scrapbook Day celebration with Creative Memories! As of today (Tuesday), I have just 2 seats left!

Registration is $25 and includes lunch, snacks and drinks throughout the day, breakout sessions (optional) on digital scrapbooking, organization, and techniques, and of course, free products and raffle prizes!

Also, all attendees will be asked to bring a picture of themselves at 16 to be displayed at the workshop! This is not mandatory, but it is fun!

Finished Layout: Scott's Black Belt

Last September, Scott (sometimes known as The Husband) earned his black belt in Jujitsu, which he had been studying for about 4 years. He had a promotional ceremony at his dojo, which many of his friends and family attended. It was so much fun, and I really wanted to highlight this accomplishment of such a fantastic goal.


For this layout, I actually used the Wishes and Dreams Display Accents (now discontinued) that were sold to complement the Everyday Display that hangs in my house. I like to use the display to showcase recent pictures, then simply transfer those displays into the scrapbook album. It always feels like a shortcut when I do that!

These appear a bit dark, which is due to my photo of the layouts, not the layouts themselves. But notice that the journaling box does not have my typical handwriting... I had Scott journal this one! And he did! Without complaining! What a great scrapbooker's husband he is.

Simply Beautiful Greeting Cards

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about the new Simply Beautiful Power Palette, and heard some good feedback from some of you on the great new colors for spring: bright and colorful!

Luckily for us, CM has come out with a new Featured Project: Simply Beautiful Greeting Cards. Here is a sneak peek at some of my favorites:





This kit makes 16 cards in all, with the cardstock pre-folded and ready to go, and envelopes included. The product value is $45, but the cost of the kit is $35 (plus shipping and tax), and we'll be creating these cards at a workshop on April 16th!
